Job Title: Fire Alarm EstimatorLocation: Rochester, NYJob Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Fire Alarm Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of fire alarm systems, codes, and regulations, along with the ability to accurately estimate project costs. This role involves collaborating with clients, vendors, and internal teams to generate precise bids and proposals for fire alarm installation and service projects.Key Responsibilities:Review project specifications, blueprints, and drawings to determine scope of work for fire alarm systems.Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for fire alarm installation, maintenance, and repair projects.Collaborate with the sales team to provide customers with solutions tailored to their needs.Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing and availability of materials and equipment.Analyze labor requirements and factor in overhead, profit margins, and any applicable regulations when developing estimates.Prepare detailed proposals and bid documents for clients, ensuring compliance with local fire codes and standards.Assist in project scheduling and ensure that estimates align with project timelines.Provide technical expertise and support to project managers and field technicians throughout the lifecycle of the project.Stay updated on industry trends, technology, and codes related to fire alarm systems.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.Conduct site visits when necessary to assess project scope and gather additional information.Review and estimate security projects as needed.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum 2 years of experience as a fire alarm estimator, or in a similar role within the fire safety industry.Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, codes (NFPA, UL, etc.), and industry regulations.Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).Proficiency in design software (AutoCad) is preferred.Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and clients.Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Ability to interpret construction drawings, technical manuals, and specifications.Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and meet deadlines.Certification in fire alarm design or estimation is a plus (e.g., NICET certification).Physical Requirements:Ability to conduct site visits and inspections, which may include walking, climbing stairs, and working in various weather conditions.Occasional lifting of equipment or materials may be required.Compensation:Competitive salary based on experience.Benefits packages include health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.Professional development opportunities.How to Apply:Please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience to careers@.
