Job Title: Director, Aircraft Manufacturing and Tooling EngineeringSalary Range: $250K/yr to $300k/yr Location: San Jose, CAZip Code: 95134Start Date: Right AwayJob Type: Direct HireSchedule: 1st shift; M-F 8am-4:30pm Keywords: #Aerospace #ManufacturingEngineering #ToolingEngineeringJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead a cross functional team of engineers with diverse backgrounds in Manufacturing Engineering (ME), Manufacturing Planning, Automation Engineering, and Tool Engineering focused on Design for Manufacturing (DFM), manufacturing process development, and production supportLead the manufacturing priority and cross functional communication to engineering, quality, and supply chain to make sure all priorities are met on scheduleWork in a fast paced and flexible environmentLead the development of standard processes and documentation for the Manufacturing Engineering department including manufacturing work plan authoring guide, tool definition requirements, producibility guidelines, etc.Lead the development of the production system design for the structural aircraft and systemsLead Make/Buy studies and support supplying required data from the manufacturing team to allow the business to make good decisionsManage tooling and equipment suppliers and integrators through production system design and implementationSupport manufacturing on the shop floorValidates and ensures production readiness of solutions to complex problemsDevelops and implements cost effective and improved processes for Lean production and tooling methodologiesAnalyzes design/build concepts, to evaluate a producible design/build definition and investigates alternative solutions to meet producibility requirementsAssists in providing input to the program plan to ensure that producibility activities and deliverables are incorporatedBe a collaborative partner who drives change and establishes standardization of ME deliverables in order to achieve functional excellencePerform technical data analysis related to product workflow, manpower forecasting, and manufacturing performanceDevelop, coach and mentor ME and Tooling Design Managers to ensure they understand roles & responsibilities, provide performance feedback, develop a career roadmap and partner with them on their career aspirationsLeads continuous improvement activitiesBuild and recruit your team to meet defined staffing and budget requirementsCollaborate with quality to ensure inspection methods are defined and standards are establishedPlan and assign work strategies in the production schedule that covers maintenance of process equipment and inspection at proper intervalsAssist with equipment installations and project planningREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:BS or MS Degree in Engineering or a related field4+ years" experience leading a Manufacturing Engineering teamWork instruction development experienceProcess and documentation development experienceManufacturing Engineering and/or Tool/Automation Engineering experienceStructural or systems installation support experienceExcellent organizational and communication skillsProven track record as an inspirational leader who invests and develops othersAbility to understand, apply and implement concepts and lean toolsDemonstrate potential to design, analyze and implement industrial engineering techniquesPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:FAR 23 experiencePart 21 experienceWorking under an FAA Production CertificateStanding up a new production facilityExperience in automation and roboticsIf you are interested in this role, please apply via the apply now link provided.
