Your expertise will help ensure Prince George's County continues to grow in a way that is sustainable, inclusive, and aligned with the community's vision for the future.Location: Largo, MarylandTelework Flexibility: Enjoy the ability to work remotely, reducing commuting time and increasing work-life balanceFlexible Work Schedule: We understand the importance of a healthy work-life balance, and this role offers flexible hours to accommodate professional and personal needs.Key Responsibilities:Lead and oversee major planning projects, including zoning, land use, and environmental impact assessments.Develop and implement long-term planning strategies to promote sustainable growth, economic development, and community engagement.Conduct research and analysis to inform policy recommendations and planning initiatives.Collaborate with government agencies, private sector partners, and community organizations to align planning efforts with regional goals.Review development proposals, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal planning regulations.Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for leadership, planning commissions, and community stakeholders.Utilize GIS, data visualization tools, and planning software to support research and decision-making.Stay current on emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in urban and regional planning.Candidate Requirements:Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Urban Planning, Architecture, Environmental Planning, Public Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.Experience: A minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in community planning, urban development, land use, or a related area.Technical Skills: Proficiency in planning software, GIS applications, and data analysis tools.Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of local, state, and federal land use regulations, zoning laws, and environmental policies.Communication & Leadership: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and present findings to leadership and the public.Problem-Solving & Analysis: Strong analytical skills to assess complex planning issues, interpret data, and develop effective solutions.Project Management: Experience managing planning projects from inception to completion, including coordination with multidisciplinary teams.Why Join 1st Choice?
