JOB PURPOSEResponsible for the oversight of the training programs inclusive of assessing the effectiveness of the programs through objective measurements, providing feedback to upper management on training effectiveness, and ensuring the integrity of the training records for all employees. Will implement consistent and measurable best practice approaches to address plant operations.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties, responsibilities and activities are listed in no particular order and may be changed or updated at any time with or without notice.)Implements the Education & Training (E&T) Pillar structure to link training activities to employee capabilities and plant losses utilizing a performance-based training approach.Provides leadership and direction to standardize plant-wide training processes - skills matrix system, skill/role development, subject-matter expert (SME) development, position qualification system, etc.Leads the development and maintenance of manufacturing training materials and courses for the Oakland Plant.Operates as a leader for safety culture ensuring that all training materials support plant's safety initiatives by providing specific training content (LOTO, Machine Guarding, PPE, etc.)Standardize multiple ways of documenting training content (OPLs, job aids, video, written materials, etc.).Develops and implements new training materials for new equipment and processes as business grows and/or changes.Develops and maintains a skills matrix (tracker) for all employees.Ensures all training records are current and accurate.Works effectively with multiple departments to ensure training aligns with organizational goals.Attends staffing and production meetings to monitor and address training-related issues.Works with third-party vendors, technical colleges, workforce development centers, etc. to acquire training resources, as needed.Monitors and reports monthly, quarterly, and yearly performance metrics on training program.Continuously improve the training administration process, identifying areas for effectiveness and efficiency.Willingness to understand and engage in activities that reflect the AFNA Way processes.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor of Arts/Science OR equivalent experience in training, education, instructional design, or related field3+ years of training experience in manufacturing industry; food processing plant environment preferred.Excellent communication and people skills, including demonstrated ability to make effective presentations; facilitate small-group problem solving; provide one-on-one training; give and receive constructive feedback; and collaborate effectively with teams.Effective writing skills, oral comprehension and expression, speech clarity, and reading comprehension.Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.Experience in training analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation.Project Management Skills: ability to organize priorities and effectively manage projects.A passion and commitment to provide creative and innovative tools to help develop employee skills.Willingness to flex work schedule to accommodate training for shift employees.Advanced skills with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPointBilingual skills a plus
