Sr. CAD Designer - Industrial Design

JOB OVERVIEWAs a Sr. CAD Designer with an industrial design focus, you will utilize your extensive skill set for creating exciting and innovative products from beginning to end.Your main responsibility is to strive to conceptualize and create market leading products including helmets, personal protective gear, boots, cycling shoes, goggles, drinkware, eyewear and others. This includes the execution of initial concepts through final CAD files, development of innovative technical features and materials, the completion of technical specification packages and working with product development, all while adhering to company timelines. This position requires a mix of collaboration with the entire product team and independent work.This position reports to the Design Manager and allows you the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule, 3 days in the office in Irvine, CA and from your home office.As the Sr. CAD Designer w/ Industrial Design Focus, you will have an opportunity to: Create Refined CAD Models servicing multiple brands; Camelbak, Giro, Bell, Fox.Execute the industrial design of complete products for all aspects inside and out, including but not exclusive to their function, aesthetics, and usability. Create designs that respect the visual language of each brand, while contributing to their evolution and greater brand guidelines.Provide solutions to design issues through a clear understanding of user and market needs Deliver complete technical packages and CAD files which supply development and manufacturing partners with all information required to understand, sample, color, material spec, create molds for, price quote and commercialize the intended product Working closely with product development, ensure that the margin and timeline targets of each product are achievedActively engage in research of target market, industry competitors, and cultural trendsUnderstand and design to the certification standards of each product categoryAssist product development in the commercialization of products through changes and tech packYou have: Exceptional surfacing skills in 3D CAD - Proficiency in one or multiple of the following (Rhino, SolidWorks, Fusion 360)Refined fundamental design skills, (sketching, shaping, sculpting).5 plus years' minimum of design experience, specializing in technical, consumer productA working knowledge of material properties, manufacturing processes and product development Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite software packages and Microsoft OfficeMust be able to travel internationallyExcellent visual communication skills and demonstrated ability to create highly sculptural forms through products that have been brought to market or in personal projectsAbility to iterate quickly and present multiple innovative solutions to a single issueEffective communication skills that serve to share and defend ideas and to maintain a flow of information necessary for project successA deeply enthusiastic attitude towards the Mountain Bike, Motocross and Action Sports industriesA self-starter who is able to execute based on company priorities and multiple project timelines
