Energy & Petrochemical Research Analyst / Portfolio ManagerLocation: Sao Paulo or South FloridaFirm : Our client is a fundamentally driven hedge fund with a low net exposure (+/- 10%) and a disciplined bottom-up approach. Our firm emphasizes deep research, financial modeling, and due diligence, making investment decisions collaboratively. Energy and related sub-sectors comprise 20% of AUM, with plans to expand beyond Latin American energy names globally. The firm has been investing for nearly 20 years, with most professionals onboard for over a decade.Role : We seek a seasoned Energy & Petrochemical Research Analyst / Portfolio Manager with a strong track record in fundamental, long-oriented, and preferably long/short investing. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in the energy sector, particularly in Latin America, with an interest in expanding globally. This role requires a collaborative approach, working closely with the two lead Portfolio Managers to execute high-conviction ideas.Responsibilities:Conduct fundamental research, financial modeling, and valuation analysis on energy and petrochemical companies.Analyze industry trends, macroeconomic factors, and regulatory developments to identify opportunities.Engage in due diligence, including company management meetings and industry expert consultations.Present investment theses and recommendations to the investment team.Maintain detailed financial models and assess risk factors.Contribute to idea generation and refine the fund's energy sector investment strategy.Qualifications & Experience:7+ years as an Energy and/or Petrochemical Research Analyst, ideally in a hedge fund, asset manager, or investment bank.Proven expertise in long-oriented and preferably long/short equity investing.Strong fundamental research skills with a track record of successful recommendations.Fluent in Spanish and English; Portuguese a plus.Experience covering Latin American energy markets; global exposure is an advantage.A collaborative mindset suited for a team-oriented environment.CFA or MBA preferred Interested candidates should submit their resume.
