Houston client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Procurement Manager/Director to lead and oversee all procurement and supply chain activities within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in strategic sourcing, contract management, and vendor negotiations, as well as being highly collaborative and possessing strong leadership skills. This role will entail managing a team of 10+ professionals and will be implementing best-in-class practices and supervising end-to-end procurement operations.Key Responsibilities:Oversee all procurement categories, including materials, consumables, services, contractors, contract management, and vendor agreements, ensuring optimal cost efficiency and quality outcomes.Develop and execute sourcing strategies, lead high-level negotiations, and drive improvements across the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process.Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to a team of 12 professionals, fostering a collaborative team culture while effectively managing strong personalities.Partner closely with operations, construction management teams, and senior management. Present purchase proposals exceeding $100K to the board for approval.Establish and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive operational excellence and accountability.Generate and analyze reports to measure procurement performance and inform data-driven decisions to optimize supply chain operations.Present insights, performance updates, and strategic procurement plans to the board and/or C-Suite stakeholders effectively.Leverage enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to improve procurement workflows and drive efficiency.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree required (preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field).Experience: Minimum of 7 years in a senior leadership role within procurement, supply chain, or related disciplines.Proven Leadership: Demonstrated success in managing and leading teams, with strong interpersonal skills to inspire engagement while maintaining accountability.Industry Background: Experience in marine, oil & gas (O&G), manufacturing, or related fields. Workday Proficiency is a plusStrong Communication: Ability to effectively communicate ideas, strategies, and processes to diverse stakeholders, including C-level executives and board members.Analytical Skills: Expertise in utilizing data analytics to derive actionable insights and achieve cost savings and operational improvements.Process-Oriented: Experience in establishing and optimizing procurement SOPs and KPIs to align with corporate goals.Presentation Skills: Adept at preparing and delivering impactful presentations to senior leadership and boards.Strategist & Problem Solver: Forward-thinking strategic mindset with a focus on finding innovative solutions for procurement challenges.Preferred Skills:Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPP, CPSM, CPIM) is a plus.Deep understanding of global procurement trends and regulatory compliance within relevant industries.
