At BATC, we believe a tutor's academic expertise is just as important as his or her ability to effectively convey the subject matter to students of all levels and backgrounds. We are seeking personable, focused, and enthusiastic individuals to tutor Biology & Chemistry at our center in San Ramon, CA.1 part-time positions (18 - 24 hrs/wkAll training will take place in our San Ramon center. Science tutor positions require availability during the school year (a combination of shifts), Mon-Thurs 3:30-10 pm and weekends 10 am-9 pm. Your schedule at BATC will be based on your availability during our business hours and our student/subject demand per day.Working at BATC:Pay is $33/hr and up, DOEWe offer set shifts; your regular hours are guaranteed whether or not we are able to schedule students in them.Paid training, prep time, and staff meetingsParticipation in carpooling and/or use of the company car for commuting to/from Oakland/Berkeley and San Ramon is availableTutors who work 24+ hrs/wk are eligible for "full-time" benefits, including company-subsidized health insuranceQualificationsScience tutors must have a thorough understanding of and ability to teach Biology and Chemistry through the AP level. Prior tutoring experience is preferred and a bachelor's degree (or ongoing study toward a degree) is required. Tutors must be able to take initiative and work independently. At the same time, we expect tutors to collaborate with each other to develop and/or expand curricula.
