At CAIRE, Inc., we are transforming our procurement department and adding a strategic category management function. We are currently seeking an experienced Category Manager with a strategic mindset, strong supplier management skills, and exceptional negotiation abilities. As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing strategic procurement activities for the products necessary to build our medical device instruments. You will develop in-depth knowledge of markets and suppliers while working with internal and external stakeholders to maximize value and mitigate risk.This position will be based out of the Canton/Ball Ground location of CAIRE, which is approximately 30 minutes north of the greater Atlanta, GA areaThis is not a hybrid or remote opportunity.Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Develop category strategy based on supply market knowledge, business needs, identifying competitive and right fit suppliers, develop regional and global supply chains, manage supply risks.Represent Category Management as a strategic procurement expert in cross-functional meetings and projects as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert.Drive functional strategic sourcing and supplier selection; work closely with Operations, Engineering, Marketing to align and ensure the right supply chain coverage to meet the needs of the business.Perform contract negotiations, supply agreement development, contract execution.Manage supplier relationships with key suppliers; conduct internal and supplier business reviews to monitor suppliers service levels and product conformity; drive continuous improvement.Collect and analyze data to identify industry / supply trends and incorporate the results into category strategies.Manage approved vendors listing, classify the suppliers, lead supplier actions for development and exit strategies.Drive cost saving through various types of actions within Operations, manage the respective category budget and variance according to targets.Ensure product / supply availability to prevent outage and line stops; develop alternative suppliers to minimize supply risk.Ensure corporate compliance with the assigned category suppliers with upmost integrity.Manage and negotiate the terms and conditions of purchase, resolve conflicting situations.Other responsibilities as assigned.Competencies/Success Factors Job Specific SkillsResearch SkillsAnalytical SkillsResults OrientedEthics IntegrityCommunicationSupervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilitiesWork EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment.
