Principal Designer (Design Systems)

Role: Design System Principal Designer Location: Basking Ridge, NJ or NYC (10007) - (2x a week at either location)Duration: Contract Through 2025 + ExtensionsRequired Skills & Experience 6+ years of experience and master of craft of Design Systems Balance of experience with UI/UX Experience tackling design challenges with a systems thinking approach Excellent experience building decks to present design system credibility Ability to independently drive work with a group of designers to manage design system workflows Strong attention to detail and proactiveness Hands on experience building a system with development teams Expert with design judgment, systematic decision making IoS/Android and web based platforms Experience with design system story telling through presentationsNice to Have Skills & Experience Research for competitive analysis Expert Figma experience Background working with a design agency Typography Motion or illustration designJob DescriptionThis person will not have direct reports. They need to be senior in design communication skills and be able to work with stakeholders to represent the enterprise design system. This person will be helping to support decision making for the design system team, as well as delegate design system tasks, manage design system workflows and reviews. This person will be in the weeds of maintaining the system, understand components quality, and be able to lead design system demos.This job includes paid Federal Holidays as well as 5 days of PTOExact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.Compensation: $65hr to $80hr
