We employ AI-powered software to provide the same high quality analysis and advice to private market investors as legacy legal work, except with faster turnaround times and at a lower cost. Currently we provide coverage for fund investments, including private equity funds, venture capital funds, real estate funds and hedge funds. Job Overview We are looking for a dynamic and motivated corporate attorney to work with our team. In this role, you will experience working at an early stage startup using cutting edge technology. You will join a growing team working in a fast-paced and exciting realm. This role's primary function is to provide advice on private markets investments, starting with fund investments, to clients leveraging proprietary AI powered software. An ideal candidate for this role will have a solid understanding of private funds of all kinds - buyout, venture, hedge, infrastructure, real estate, etc. and a passion for learning about and using AI and other technology. In addition, the candidate should have strong experience in both drafting and negotiating fund documents, side letters, placement agreements and related fund materials. The candidate must be a clear communicator and able to collaborate with a range of cross-functional teams. The specific areas of focus and responsibilities will change based on company priorities, new legal issu and our overall evolving product strategy.Serve as subject matter expert on private markets investments Work with junior attorneys, paralegals and project managers to efficiently review private fund off materials, partnership agreements, and other private fund legal documentation through our AI platform Identify issues and advise clients on transactions of various complexity Negotiate various agreements with counterparties, including fund managers Actively participate on cross-functional teams About You J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) Member in good standing of New York Bar 4+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including fund formation experience within the Investment Management space at a top-tier law firm and/or investment management Business judgment and client counseling experience Impeccable communication skills Availability for a hybrid work schedule in NYC About Whistler Partners Matchmakers, Not Headhunters Whistler Partners is a boutique matchmaking firm focused on counseling the best and the brightest attorne over the course of their careers.
