Axiom is assisting an innovator in the aviation and aerospace industry with their search for a new Senior IP Counsel. As Senior IP Counsel, you will spearhead projects and initiatives with a wide-reaching impact, leveraging your expertise in IP law, including litigation, patent counseling, and technology transactions. Collaborating across the organization, you will lead efforts to achieve the company's IP objectives, supporting their focus on innovative technology, research, development, and licensing.Competitive compensation, unique benefits, and relocation assistance available.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement strategies for expanding our patent and trademark portfolios.Lead the development and management of our patent portfolio.Ensure freedom-to-operate for future product and technology plans, crafting response strategies as necessary.Advise on licenses, collaboration agreements, and other third-party IP-related transactions.Investigate potential infringements on our IP rights, advising on possible enforcement and licensing strategies.Provide guidance on global IP law developments, recommending policy or process updates as needed.Deliver training and guidance to internal teams on a wide range of IP topics.Travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and admission to the California State Bar, or eligibility for Registered In-House Counsel status in California.Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics from an accredited institution.At least six years of IP practice experience, with a preference for at least three years in a law firm setting.Proven ability to collaborate with diverse teams to solve complex IP challenges, balancing multiple stakeholder priorities.Extensive experience in IP matters, including fact investigation, witness interviews, infringement/invalidity contentions, depositions, post-grant proceedings, patent application drafting, and client counseling.Skilled in negotiating IP transactions and dispute resolutions or conducting due diligence for technology deals.Strong negotiation skills with both internal and external partners.Demonstrated leadership, organizational skills, and attention to detail, with a strong focus on ethics, integrity, and accountability.Team-oriented with a passion for working collaboratively on projects.Axiom ensures equal employment opportunity in recruitment and employment, without discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, color, nationality, national or ethnic origin, religious creed or belief, political opinion, sex, gender reassignment, pregnancy or maternity, age, disability, alienage or citizenship status, marital (or civil or other partnership recognized by law) status, genetic predisposition or carrier status, sexual orientation, military service, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
