Primary Purpose:The Director of Marketing is a key communicator, strategic marketing thinker and project leader, and the direct connector with key department heads and affiliated advisors. The Director of Marketing creates a meaningful experience that is consistent across departments that helps the organization grow further, in alignment with its vision. This position will plan, direct, supervise and coordinate work activities of the marketing team.The position will own the external and internal marketing and communications, delivering a consistent VIP experience for stakeholders across all channels. This role will build and support a marketing and promotion plan that attracts new employees and advisors to AdvisorNet Financial, Inc., increasing the value to existing affiliated advisors and raising brand awareness. Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:In partnership with the SVP of Marketing & Strategic Initiatives, provide the strategic vision"”both short- and long-term"”for all marketing initiatives and functions.Develop and implement a cohesive marketing and promotion business plan to accelerate company growth.Lead and manage the marketing team and support contract freelancers to execute the strategic vision.Combine strategic thinking and leadership with hands on, roll-up your sleeves execution that includes written content creation.Manage marketing revenue and expenses within budget; develop strategies to increase revenue derived from marketing agency, implement creative solutions to "do more with less," and manage and reduce expenses through innovative efficiencies.Promote in-house agency resource to the organization's affiliate financial advisors.Provide strategic marketing and consultative services to our affiliated advisors and their firm(s); lead management and execution of any advisor-requested marketing support.Develop strategy and manage execution for development of the AdvisorNet brand internally and externally through various platforms including, but not limited to, webpages, social media and video.Lead the management, development, and rollout of all internal and external communications.Develop and maintain relationships with key departmental leaders to help drive their business line's growth through marketing strategies and campaigns.Manage in-person and virtual events and meetings, including event planning and resource allocation within budget.Develop content and create executive-level presentations for advisors, shareholders and board members.Other special projects and duties as assigned within functional/knowledge area. People Management Responsibilities and Essential Functions:Hire, coach, mentor, and develop employees, including recruitment, job description development and new hire onboarding, training, and career development.Oversee the development and execution of employee performance that supports professional growth and achievement of individual and business objectives. Provide effective feedback through employee recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action, when necessary.Develop and execute the strategic department business plan, ensuring alignment with organization objectives which supports sustained growth. Execute against the department budget, manage compensation review, and ensure fiscal stewardship.Maintain employee work schedules including assignments, time off, telecommuting, time and attendance, and if applicable, overtime scheduling.Job Specifications:Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing and communications or relevant field, required; MBA (or similar advanced degree), preferred.10+ years of marketing experience, required.5 years of experience as a people manager required with proven success in relationship-focused leadership, required. 5-7 years of experience, including direct responsibility for creating marketing strategy in the financial services industry, preferred.Ability to lead under pressure on multiple priorities and projects simultaneously with high visibility in fast-paced environment. Ability to collaborate across all levels of an organization. Personable, approachable with a positive attitude in providing service excellence. Strong professional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to command presence and effectively communicate up and down the organization.Ability to connect creative thinking and bold actions to business results.Ability to build and lead a team of highly empowered individuals.Strong skills in marketing campaign development, execution and leveraging of data and analytics to improve results and increase ROI.Demonstrated strength in conceptual strategy and execution while still maintaining a roll-up-your-sleeves management style.A proven track record of aligning the organization and owners around the marketing strategy.Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.
