Senior Legal Counsel

Our client, an international investment management firm, is looking to add its first legal hire to their U.S. team. This is a globally recognized, prominent investment firm that focuses on long-term growth strategies through investments across hedge, private equity, venture capital, and real estate funds, as well as investments in other asset classes. The Senior Legal Counsel will report to the Chief Legal Officer and work closely with senior stakeholders across the firm's U.S. and international offices. This role offers a unique opportunity to establish and develop the firm's legal function in North America, supporting a broad range of legal matters across various business units.Responsibilities:Provide general day-to-day legal support across the U.S. business operations.Advise on investment transactions, especially within private and alternative markets.Draft, review and negotiate fund documentation, including LP agreements and side letters.Support client contracting, regulatory compliance, and governance matters.Collaborate with global legal and compliance teams on cross-border matters.QualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law school; admission to a U.S. bar.5+ years of experience at a top-tier law firm or in-house, ideally with exposure to investment funds.Experience in private markets, including PE, private debt, and/or hedge funds.Ability to work independently while collaborating with global teams.
