The coach will be responsible for overseeing the development, training, and performance of student-athletes in a range of track and field events. The ideal candidate should possess a passion for the sport, a strong knowledge of athletic techniques, and the ability to foster a positive and supportive team environment.Key Responsibilities:Coaching and Training:Develop and implement individualized and team-based training programs for athletes in sprints, distance running, hurdles, relays, field events (long jump, high jump, pole vault, shot put, etc.), and other track disciplines.Provide skill development, technique analysis, and feedback to athletes at all skill levels.Conduct regular practice sessions, ensuring a balance of technique, conditioning, and competitive readiness.Monitor and adjust training schedules based on athletes' progress and needs.Team Management:Foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture.Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal responsibility among all athletes.Assist with team selection for meets, ensuring athletes are appropriately placed in events that match their strengths.Communicate regularly with athletes and their families to keep them informed of schedules, expectations, and progress.Competition and Meet Organization:Prepare athletes for local, regional, and state competitions by developing appropriate race strategies and event plans.Assist with the organization and logistics of meets, including travel, equipment, and scheduling.Attend and supervise team participation in track and field meets, including assisting with event set-up and break-down.Safety and Compliance:Ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes during practice and competition.Enforce all school and district policies regarding athletics, including proper use of equipment, injury prevention, and sportsmanship.Stay current with the rules and regulations of the sport and adhere to all state and national track and field guidelines.Administrative Duties:Keep accurate records of athletes' performance, attendance, and eligibility.Assist with fundraising, team building events, and parent meetings.Work with the athletic department to maintain necessary equipment, uniforms, and facilities.Qualifications:High school diploma required.Prior coaching experience in track and field, preferably at the high school or collegiate level.Strong knowledge of track and field techniques, event strategy, and rules.Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to reach their full potential.Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).Ability to work with diverse groups of students and collaborate with other coaches and staff members.Compensation: The Track & Field Coach will receive a $3500 stipend.Application Process: Interested candidates should submit a resume and references to Bishoy Abdelshaid at babdelshaid@.
