Bankruptcy & Financial Restructuring Associate - New York CityOverview:A well-established Am Law 200 firm is seeking a talented and motivated Associate (3 year post JD) to join its Bankruptcy & Financial Restructuring Team in New York City. The firm fosters a culture of excellence while encouraging professional growth and rewarding performance.Key Responsibilities:Represent distressed businesses and creditors in financial restructuring and bankruptcy proceedings.Advise businesses on strategies for debt restructuring, renegotiating contracts, and navigating reorganization processes under applicable bankruptcy laws.Handle matters involving cross-border insolvency situations, including coordination with foreign counsel and navigating competing jurisdictional claims.Participate in complex financial restructuring transactions, advising on asset sales, debt rescheduling, and reorganization plans.Develop and execute case strategies to protect client interests in distressed situations.Conduct detailed legal research on bankruptcy law, financial restructuring, and creditor rights.Draft pleadings, motions, and petitions for bankruptcy court proceedings.Provide litigation support in insolvency-related disputes, including fraudulent conveyance and creditor claims.Assist in M&A transactions, focusing on distressed business sales, acquisitions, and restructurings.Work with finance teams to structure financing deals and advise on debt arrangements in distressed settings.Qualifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
