Intellectual Property Litigation Attorney

Lateral Link is working directly with the hiring Partners of an elite Chicago Litigation Firm on a rare, unposted opportunity for a senior level IP Litigation Associate with 4-7 years of experience. This position will take on a case leadership role with significant client contact and stand-up opportunities in cutting-edge patent litigation in tech, medical, and other fields.Ideal Experience/Skillset:Candidate must have substantial experience with major litigation and patent-lit-specific events, including preparing for Markman hearings, taking depositions and preparing witnesses for depositions, working with experts, preparing and responding to written discovery, and preparing contentionsExperience arguing substantive motions strongly preferred but not requiredExperience being on a trial team preferred but not requiredCandidate must have a strong knowledge of the fundamentals of patent lawCandidate must have strong writing skills and have experience briefing discovery issues, Markman, and ideally (but not required) dispositive motionsA scientific or technical background (e.g., an undergrad degree in a hard science or engineering) is a bonus but not requiredCandidate must have have top-tier law school with excellent academic record or very top of class at a less renowned programCandidates in Chicago or willing to relocate within 6 months are strongly preferred, but exceptional candidates outside Chicago will be considered on a case by case basisOther Perks:Firm will pay for relocation to Chicago and IL Bar examNo billables/tracking of hoursTop of the market compensation (with bonuses often above market)Clear, attainable 8-year path to partnership - everyone will make Partner if they want to, no business/originations requiredActually go to trialEgalitarian, supportive, flexible cultureCasual and fun workplaceHybrid schedule (3 days in office)If you meet the above requirements and you're looking for a long-term, sustainable, and lucrative career with an actual path to partnership while working with top-flight clients, then please apply or send resume directly to zatassi@.
