About the Role:The IP Litigation Associate will play a key role in handling complex intellectual property disputes, with a primary focus on patent litigation. You will be responsible for managing various aspects of litigation, including legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, taking and defending depositions, conducting discovery, and preparing for trial.This role offers the opportunity to work on high-stakes cases across a wide range of industries, including technology, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, and consumer products. You will collaborate with experienced attorneys, engage directly with clients, and gain hands-on litigation experience in federal courts and before administrative bodies.Key Responsibilities:Case Strategy & Management: Assist in the development and execution of litigation strategies for patent, trademark, trade secret, and copyright disputes.Legal Research & Drafting: Draft persuasive pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.Discovery & Depositions: Manage discovery processes, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, document requests, and requests for admission; take and defend depositions.Court Appearances & Advocacy: Represent clients in hearings, trials, and settlement negotiations.Client Interaction & Counseling: Work closely with clients to understand their business objectives and provide strategic legal counsel.Collaboration & Mentorship: Work alongside senior litigators, technical experts, and cross-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality legal services.Qualifications:Experience: 3-5 years of experience at a leading law firm specializing in intellectual property litigation, with a focus on patent litigation.Technical Background: A degree or significant coursework in engineering, computer science, life sciences, or a related technical field is highly preferred.Legal Expertise: Strong knowledge of patent lawAcademic Credentials: Outstanding academic performance from a top-tier law school.Bar Admission: Admission to the New York State Bar (or eligibility for admission) is required.
