Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Product and Data Science to lead data analytics initiatives. This role will focus on establishing a robust data analytics capability, leveraging vast amounts of cell process data generated from bioreactor systems. The successful candidate will play a critical role in turning data into actionable insights and revenue-generating opportunities.Key Responsibilities:Lead the development of data analytics capabilities, focusing on leveraging bioreactor data to provide insights for new clients.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and assess the current data landscape and its potential for generating value.Drive the analysis of historical customer data to identify trends and insights that can enhance client experiences and outcomes.Utilize cloud-based tools, primarily AWS and Google's ML systems (Gemini and VertexAI), to implement advanced data analytics and machine learning solutions.Manage a small team of software engineers (2 SWE's) across locations (San Francisco and Costa Rica), fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.Ensure the infrastructure is optimized for data storage and processing, utilizing tools like Looker and BigQuery.Communicate effectively with stakeholders, translating complex data findings into actionable strategies and business opportunities.Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science and biotech.Qualifications:2-5 years of leadership experience in a data science or machine learning team, preferably within the biotech or pharmaceutical industries.Strong background in cloud-based infrastructure, particularly AWS; familiarity with Google Cloud technologies is a plus.Proven experience in establishing and scaling data analytics functions within an organization.Proficiency in Python and familiarity with containerized microservices architecture.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.A strong understanding of bioreactor processes and the ability to translate scientific data into business value.Why Join Us?Be part of an innovative company at the forefront of biotechnology, with direct responsibility over driving the company's continued growth.Collaborate with a talented team, including co-founders from top tech companies, and contribute to high-impact projects that drive industry advancements.Application Process: If you are passionate about data science and its application in the biotech field, we would love to hear from you.
