Sr. Manager, R&D (Beverage) WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: The Sr. Manager, R&D (Beverage), oversees the development and management of new products and reformulations from bench to production scale. In this role, you'll lead and develop a team of scientists driving innovation around one of our largest product lines and ensuring successful project execution. You will work cross-functionally with Marketing and Operations to drive commercial-scale and balance product quality with cost targets. A successful Sr Manager, R&D (Beverage) will have a genuine passion for creating innovative and exciting products. You will need to blend technical expertise, leadership skills and strategic thinking - Our industry is constantly evolving, so the ability to adapt to change and embrace new challenges is essential. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the development and execution of new products and reformulations from bench to production scale. Manage shelf-life testing for all products within the portfolio, ensuring product stability. Develop and enforce product specifications, ensuring compliance with finished product standards. Manage the formulation, review and validation of nutritional labels, sensory evaluation data, and commercial-scale costing. Evaluate new technologies, ingredients, product forms, co-packers, and market products to ensure company offerings meet or exceed functional and organoleptic specifications. Oversee the transfer of production to alternative CoMan facilities - Improve quality, operational efficiency and costeffectiveness. Optimize R&D work process flows - Build and maintain product development programs and equip the lab with necessary tools and resources. Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Finance, Quality) and external partners, including CoMans, ingredient suppliers. Team Development: Coach, mentor and develop team members' skills and careers, providing regular feedback, identifying training opportunities and creating growth paths. KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:Expert in ingredient functionality and product formulations. Knowledge of ingredient suppliers, quality standards and cost optimization strategies. Skilled in transforming raw ingredients into finished food products. Proficient in process science and adapting formulas for CoMans. Deep understanding of nutrition science and formulation for functional benefits (macronutrients, satiety, etc.). Expertise in nutritional label development and regulatory compliance. Knowledgeable in sensory evaluation procedures. Ability to align R&D efforts with the overall business strategy and identify opportunities for innovation and growth. Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across different departments - Skillfully addressing and resolving conflicts within the team or with other key stakeholders. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or a related field, required. Minimum 8 years professional-level experience in beverage product development (aseptic, ESL, still or carbonated), required. Minimum 4 years of proven leadership experience, successfully managing and developing teams. Experience acquiring and adapting new technologies, leading to successful product launches. Proficient in Microsoft Windows and related software applications. Work is performed in a fast-paced office environment and may be stressful at times. Work may require sitting for long periods of time; requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, calculator, telephone, copier and fax machine and scanner. In this spirit, we are excited to share the available compensation for this role, which includes a base salary range and an annual short-term incentive. We provide the base salary range, exclusive of benefits or additional incentives (highlighted here. Additionally, this position is eligible for a 20% annual short-term incentive. If you are hired at Simply Goods Foods, your final base salary compensation will be determined based upon such factors as: geographic locations, skills, training, education and/or experience. Please keep in mind that hiring at the compensation range maximum would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth. OFFICE-BASED POSITION:CO Annual Salary Range is: $125,000-$155,000We provide a comprehensive total rewards package featuring competitive compensation alongside top-tier health and wellness options.
