Category Buyer Specialist

TrinityRail is seeking a Specialist, Category Buyer to join our Corporate Headquarters in Addison, TX.This role will focus on indirect procurement with an emphasis on Corporate Spend, supporting all Trinity facilities including headquarters, new railcar production, and railcar maintenance facilities. The Category Buyer plays a crucial role in reducing the total cost of ownership within the TrinityRail Supply Chain. The candidate will manage supplier relationships, negotiate and renew contracts, and drive cost improvements across the organization.Responsibilities:Ensure purchased products comply with company and regulatory standards, supporting Trinity's business and production operationsManage corporate purchasing activities both within and outside the ERP systemSupport the RFP process for each business groupCollaborate with corporate business leaders to complete orders, identify new procurement needs, and resolve invoicing and shipment issuesDevelop processes to resolve invoicing issues in conjunction with accounting teamsAddress supplier discrepancies in price, terms, returns, supply, or quality through renegotiation, replacement, or back chargesLead RFPs when applicable, place orders, track estimated arrival times, and arrange shipmentsGenerate and maintain supplier partnershipsCollaborate with operations and continuous improvement teams to support cost reduction projectsRequirements:Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain, or an equivalent combination of experienceExperience in Oracle Fusion Procurement preferred5+ years of relevant experience preferredBilingual skills preferredContinuous improvement experience or mindsetEffective verbal and written communication skillsAdvanced computer literacy with Excel, Word, and PowerPointAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced work environmentAbility to work collaboratively across all levels of the organizationExperience interfacing with Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) membersWillingness to travel (10%) to various plant locations across the US•Onsite in Addison, TX
