Position Title: Architectural Designer (Graduate Architect) Reports To: VP of Sales & Marketing Job Summary:Duke Companies is the parent company of Duke Homes, Duke Renovations, and Duke Commercial. These three design build divisions work as separate entities but team members work collaboratively across all three. This role requires a servant-hearted, self-starting professional who can take on a variety of tasks with excellence and integrity. The Architectural Designer will work within the bounds and context of the company's vision, mission, values, policies and strategic plan. Among other things, this individual will be responsible for architectural design drafting, detailing, construction documents, graphical depictions, and other associated tasks for residential and commercial construction projects. The individual will need to work closely with the VP of Sales, other design team members, VPs of each division and project managers in order to accomplish the functions of the job with excellence. Essential Job Functions: Architectural DesignDevelop design documents for projects in all design phases, including master plot planning, schematic (sd), design development (dd), and construction documentation (cd).Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to produce quality construction documentsWork with equipment suppliers/vendors/consultants to obtain the necessary information needed for design completion.Work directly with clients - communicating challenges, possibilities, and input needs to complete design phases. This includes in-person meetings, phone calls, and emails.Assist other design team members with design solutions or load management as neededAssist in providing needed details or documents for permitting Reviews drawings and documents to assure compliance with company design and production standards, as well as building code requirements.Capable of creating renderings and generating 3D models as needed (preferred but not required) Selections & Field WorkSupport and/or lead field visits and site surveys when needed, including capturing as-built measurements. Support construction administration activities such as preparing construction sketches, submittal review, and RFI responses as well as performing on-site observations and field support when called upon.Assist clients with selection decisions when necessary.Other ResponsibilitiesPotential to manage junior level designers, depending upon experience.Collaborate with interior designers when applicable.Create relevant reports detailing work as needed.Capture meeting notes and project details in Salesforce (CRM) Supplemental Job Functions:Run with and lead special projects as needed (which may/may-not directly relate to pre-defined functions), primarily in connection with the strategic plan.Be present at or help at company events if/when they occur.Assist and participate in various company initiatives. Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:Indiana Architect License not required, but preferredDegree related to architectural designAt least 5 years of full-time experience in a variety of architectural design rolesExperience as a Project Architect on residential projects preferredExperience with providing complete construction documentsProficient in AutoCAD - Please do not apply if you are not experienced in current releases of AutoCAD.Familiarity with Revit preferredStrong graphic skills & natural eye for good designUnderstanding of architectural design principlesMust have excellent oral and written communication skillsCollaborative NatureTech SavvyAbility to manage time well & prioritize activities The above is intended to describe the essential and supplemental functions of this job.
