Senior Retoucher

MAKEUP BY MARIO is searching for a Senior Retoucher who will work closely in assisting the Post-Production manager in executing high-end retouching across a variety of assets, including beauty campaigns, product stills, and e-commerce imagery.The ideal candidate has extensive experience working across skin retouching, still life retouching, and a very strong sense of COLOR and COLOR CORRECTION particularly in beauty and product imagery.The role requires the ability to adapt quickly to changes, solve problems e?iciently, and ensure that all final assets meet the brand's high-quality standards.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:High-End Retouching: Retouch beauty, product still life, and editorial images to a professional, industry-leading standard, with a focus on natural skin texture and color accuracy.Skin Retouching: Perfect skin tones, textures, and details while maintaining a realistic, natural look.Product Retouching: Elevate product stills, refining texture and imperfections, color matching physical products.Color Grading: Ensure color consistency across images and maintain guidelines for skin tone and product colors.Complex Compositing: Execute advanced retouching techniques, including compositing.Workflow E?iciency: Maintain e?icient workflow processes, following defined procedures accurately and consistently across brand standards.Quality Control (QC): Review all completed images for sharpness, resolution, and adherence to brand standards prior to release.Problem-Solving: Be solution-oriented, proactively addressing challenges and providing creative solutions.Independent & Team Work: Work e?ectively both independently and in collaborative settings under the direction of the Post-Production Manager.Adaptability: Quickly adapt to shifts in direction, ensuring flexibility while maintaining high standards of work.• Contemporary Beauty Landscape Knowledge: Maintain a clear understanding of the contemporary beauty landscape, ensuring all retouched imagery aligns with current trends and industry standards.SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:5+ years of experience in high-end retouching, ideally within beauty, fashion, or luxury industries.Beauty experience required, with an excellent eye for on-skin, makeup, and product finish.Expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Capture One.Advanced skin retouching skills, with deep understanding of natural texture preservation and tonal balance.Strong expertise in color correction, grading, and product color matching.Experience with still life/product retouching, and complex compositions.Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining exceptional attention to detail.Ability to work e?ectively in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment without sacrificing image quality.Strong organizational and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.Knowledge of post-production workflows, including file management and asset delivery.This freelance role is compensated at $55 an hour, requires 24 hours per week, 3 days per week and a part-time presence at our headquarters in Midtown Manhattan, New York City.Please attach resume and portfolio when applying
