We stand ready to fight even when success seems unsure because we understand how much better life can be with the dignity and peace of mind that comes with having documents.Position PurposeThe Staff Attorney will help review Requests for Evidence (RFE) and perform legal research according to guidance provided by senior attorneys. No immigration experience is necessary, as training will be provided on the types of cases you will be working on, but an interest in immigration law is preferred. The ideal candidate will be goal-oriented, able to follow detailed instructions, and motivated to help our clients obtain documents and stay united with their families. There is an opportunity for career growth and additional responsibilities with strong performance.Essential Job Functions & ResponsibilitiesReview draft RFE responses pursuant to instructions from Senior AttorneysIdentify, track, and make necessary edits prior to submissionClearly communicate to other team members regarding editsMeet daily goals on reviewing casesPerform legal research on immigration law topicsEssential Skills, Knowledge & AbilitiesAbility to follow detailed directionsExperience using a case management software system preferredInterest in immigration law preferredSupport mission of helping people currently living in America obtain their documents and stay together with their familyComputer skills (Typing - MS Word and MS Excel, Document Management - DropBox, Email - MS Outlook)Minimum QualificationsThe candidate should have a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good standing of a state bar
