From large-scale industrial projects to preliminary feasibility studies, our goal is to provide value through creative and cost-effective design solutions. We currently have 4 locations across Texas and growing: Houston, The Woodlands, Austin and San Antonio.Responsibilities:As a Project Engineer on our Site Development team in our Houston office, you will:Preparing preliminary analysis on a variety of technical tasks.Involved in assignments that continue to develop abilities in area of specialty.Makes independent decisions about assigned areas of responsibility.Survey, design file, temp sheet, and temp sheet overall clean upPrepare basic calculationsSchedule project deliverablesCollect, organize, and evaluate dataOrganize and file project materials and referencesAnalyze systems utilizing computer modelingDevelop, evaluate, and design specifications and contract drawingVehicle tracking, Utility flowlines, and Pipe conflictsComplete public plans - plan and profiles - water, storm, HCFCD outfall wastewater, left turn lane, traffic control plan, details.Pavement design - understand geotechnical report, paving detailsSidewalk designPublic plan signatures: COH, AT&T, CPETxDOT driveway permitFEMA floodplain informationFIS profilesSheet design: SWPPP, SWQMP, TCP, Dimension Control, Utility Plan, Drainage Area Map, Drainage Spreadsheet, Details SheetsWorks closely with project and task team leadersMaintain regular and prompt attendance at WGA Houston officePerform other duties as assignedRequired skills and experience:Activities include research: preliminary design calculations and field work and observationTake personal responsibility for quality of tasks performed.Participate review of task level assignmentsDemonstrates willingness to accept new challenges and learn specialized fieldFamiliarize self with firm's methods, standards, and practicesDesired qualities and attributes:Good oral and written communication skills, good sense of professional ruleContinues on-the-job training.Growing knowledge of profession as organizations, professional development programs or other training.Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize workExcellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilitiesProficient in Microsoft Office applicationsMust be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language clearly and both orally and in writingRequirements:Civil Engineering degree and 2+ years' experience.Registered Texas E.I.T.EEO STATEMENTWGA LLP is committed to providing equal opportunity to all qualified applicants and its employees.
