A truly exciting opportunity for a talented Principal Electrical Engineer to join Servomex, the global expert in gas analysis and part of the FTSE 250 Spectris Group on the London Stock Exchange.Based out of our US Technical Center (USTC) in Woburn, MA, the successful candidate in this critical role will lead electrical design efforts for development of new technologies and products, including all components of the full analyzer system. They will also serve as subject matter expert on critical concepts and technologies and deliver anolog and digital circuit design for new product introduction (NPI) and existing products.About the Opportunity:Lead electrical design efforts for development of new technologies and products, including all components of the full analyzer systemDevelop and support Embedded Systems for a range of gas sensing products sold globallyServe as subject matter expert on critical concepts and technologiesPrototype and test hardware for new and improved product designsDesign and deliver PCBA and system test fixtures, programs, and proceduresProvide project analysis and recommend necessary actions to achieve project deliverables to company standards and within established timelinesProvide technical support and instruction to the design engineering team members and Project Engineering team members on how to design systems, create drawings and meet project goals using standards, specifications, guidelines, and best practicesAbout Your Talent:Electrical engineering experience at Principal levelBachelor's degree (or equivalent) in electrical engineeringProven design & firmware experience with both digital and analog circuitsDevelopment of low level embedded software in C or C++ (preferable)Embedded processor design for data acquisition and controlExperience working in a regulated environment such as ISO 9001, 13485 or FDARegulatory agency and certification experience (UL, CSA, CE, ROHS, IEC)Experience with designing for EMI mitigationCompetent with design tools such as Altium and OrCADAdept at application of Engineering first principles and robust problem solving methodologiesExperience and confidence with DFx, DFMEA and other design toolsAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environmentExperience with signal processing in high sensitivity gas analysis, gas flow or analytical laboratory equipment (or closely related equipment/products) would be a distinct advantageThe full job description will be made available during the application process.
