Location: Redmond, WA Full TimeCompensation: $35 - $40 hourly DOE / Full BenefitsOn-SiteU.S. Citizen or Green Card RequiredFabrication TechnicianQUALA is seeking a skilled and hands-on Fabrication Technician to join our prototyping team. This role involves executing precise prototyping tasks, solving design challenges, and bringing concepts to life in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will combine problem-solving expertise with craftsmanship using a variety of tools and technologies.Key Responsibilities:Develop creative solutions and troubleshoot design, fabrication, and assembly issuesFabricate and assemble parts using manual tools including mills, lathes, table saws, water jets, laser cutters, band saws, drill press, etc.Operate manual shop tools (mills, lathes, drill presses, saws) and work with sheet metalCreate, modify, and interpret 3D CAD models (SolidWorks, Creo)Maintain tools and machines, ensuring calibration and adherence to safety standardsOperate desktop-scale 3d printersQualifications:3+ years' experience in hands-on model making / fabricationStrong understanding of manufacturing and prototyping processesProficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo)Skilled in operating manual tools and machinery including manual lathes, manual mills, water jets, laser cutters, band saws, table saws3D printing experience - setting up and running a variety of printersSmall and large part sheet metal fabricationCreative problem-solver with attention to detail and the ability to adapt to evolving project needsExperience creating 3D forms and designs from planar materialsExcellent communication and teamwork skillsExperience leading or working in an educational shop, lab, or maker spacePreferred Experience:Familiarity with CNC machiningBA or BFA in Industrial Design
