The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for maintenance and upkeep of the company vehicles and powered industrial trucks and assists with the maintenance and upkeep of the company trailer fleet. Available/able to Work Overtime, as required. This role is responsible to complete preventive maintenance and inspections on all fleet vehicles, schedule all routine maintenance and emergency repair with all necessary dealerships and repair stations. Success in this role comes from being eager to learn, technically inclined, an excellent communicator, and having a passion for people, service, and care.Major objectives and deliverables. What does success look like at 30 days, 3 mos, 6 mos, and 12 mos? What does some have to DO to be successful?Within the first 30 days:Learns TEM's mission, core values, services, and operational procedures.Within 1st week, completes TEM safety training, watches videos and passes written test.Learns to use Paycom and Motive Apps accurately clocking in and out daily and recording time driving commercial vehicles.Learns GoFormz software in the field taking pictures, taking notes, and completing paperwork accurately with review from Facilities Supervisor.Learns Onedrive and is able to locate past vehicle files, equipment files, and paperwork.Learns to utilize Yard Task Log in conjunction with Paycom.3 months and ongoing:Basic understanding of the entire fleet to include corporate vehicles.Knowledge of all repair and body shops we currently utilize.Works with Operations Coordinator /Facility Supervisor on updating registrations and preparing all newly purchased vehicles.Studies and completes the Loading and Securing Test.Understands the TEM labeling system for all vehicles and equipment.Basic understanding and utilization of the EOS program.6 months and ongoing:Understands and assists with Legacy Auto for all vehicle registrations.Understands and can complete Purchase orders for repair work or parts ordering through Business Central.Understands and assists with all temporary and permanent wide load permits.Knows, understands and performs all maintenance on all yard combustion engine equipment.Begin understanding and learning the instructor's role for the company SOP's on vehicular Electronic Braking System, 5th Wheel Connection and disconnection, and Diesel Re-Generation.12 months and ongoing:Begin Instructing annual refresher training and new hire training for company SOP's on vehicular Electronic Braking Systems, 5th Wheel Connection and disconnection, and Diesel Re-Generation.Have complete knowledge of TEM Fleet procedures and training.What are the 3 most important abilities/functions needed to accomplish?Preventative Maintenance and Inspections of Fleet Vehicles (~70% of the time)Performing Standard Repairs on Fleet Vehicles and Yard Equipment(~25% of the time)Navigating Company Apps (~5% of the time)Essential skills & experience required?
