Manufacturing Technician

Our client is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Technician to work at their company in Maple Grove, MN.Position Summary: Set up, maintain and support laser processing systems. Provide technical assistance and guidance to Associate Laser Technicians and/or production personnelPrimary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:Performs basic mechanical, electrical, and optical installation and debug of machines. Performs initial set-up of lasers.Supports and performs laser equipment qualifications using established protocols.Supports and performs beam delivery alignment and characterization activities.Supports and performs laser-related process validations and/or production activities.Supports interrelationship activities between Operations and Process Development.Supports and performs improvement activities. Understands and can perform specific laser processes.May provide production floor support.Ensures functional systems to manufacture quality parts.Performs laser and system preventative maintenance and may establish PM schedules for Machine Maintenance.Limited programming of laser systems.Responsible for troubleshooting; brings complex problems to the next reporting level. May take on special investigations.May work with Equipment Engineering or outside vendors to specify and implement fixtures and other laser-related modifications.May work in a Class Four (exposed) laser environment.Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance with all quality requirements.Qualifications:Must have HS diploma - degree visible on a resumeAA Degree or equivalent work experience in a related discipline and 1 year of related experience.Will consider someone without an AA degree and will need 2-3 years of experience.Microsoft Suite experience, excelTech experience!Must be hands-on!Laser processingI prefer someone with SolidWorks experienceSomeone with CNC Machining experience is desirableSomeone with CAM/CAD experience is desirableSomeone who has experience in Process development, metals - a plus!
