A Private Practice in the Louisville Area needs you! They are growing quickly, and are looking to expand their team. The Hearing Instrument Specialist is new to this practice, and they are on the hunt for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset, who can make this role their own! Job Title: Hearing Instrument SpecialistJob Summary:The Hearing Instrument Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive hearing healthcare services to patients, including conducting hearing evaluations, selecting and fitting hearing aids, and providing ongoing patient counseling and support. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of life for individuals with hearing loss.Responsibilities:Patient Evaluation:Conduct thorough hearing evaluations, including pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, and other relevant tests.Interpret audiometric results to determine the nature and extent of hearing loss.Take ear impressions for custom earmolds and hearing aid shells.Hearing Aid Selection and Fitting:Recommend and dispense appropriate hearing aids based on patient needs and preferences.Program and adjust hearing aids to optimize performance.Verify and validate hearing aid fittings using real-ear measurements and other techniques.Patient Counseling and Education:Educate patients and their families about hearing loss, hearing aids, and communication strategies.Provide counseling and support to help patients adjust to their hearing aids.Instruct patients on the proper care and maintenance of their hearing aids.Follow-Up Care:Schedule and conduct follow-up appointments to monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments.Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for hearing aid issues.Repair and maintain hearing aid devices.Administrative Tasks:Maintain accurate patient records.Manage inventory of hearing aids and supplies.Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in hearing aid technology.Sales of hearing aid devices.Qualifications:Licensure or certification as a Hearing Instrument Specialist, as required by state regulations.Proven experience in conducting hearing evaluations and fitting hearing aids.Strong knowledge of hearing aid technology and audiology principles.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to build rapport with patients and provide compassionate care.Detail-oriented and organized.Sales experience is a plus.Proficiency in the use of computers and audiological equipment.Key Skills:Audiometric testingHearing aid fitting and programmingPatient counselingCommunication skillsTechnical aptitudeSales skill.Customer service.
