Need locals.Job Summary:The Tennessee School for the Blind is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our students, staff, and campus. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment for our visually impaired students.Key Responsibilities:• Monitor and patrol the school premises, including buildings, grounds, and parking areas, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates.• Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances.• Provide assistance and direction to visitors, ensuring they follow school protocols.• Maintain a visible presence to deter potential security threats.• Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations and medical emergencies.• Report any suspicious activities or security breaches to the appropriate authorities.• Conduct regular inspections of security systems, including surveillance cameras and alarm systems.• Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement security policies and procedures.• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations.Qualifications:• High school diploma or equivalent.• Previous experience in security or law enforcement is preferred.• A valid armed/unarmed security license.• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.• Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.• Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency response procedures.• Physical fitness and the ability to stand or walk for extended periods.• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.• Ability to pass a background check.Working Conditions:• The position requires working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.• May involve working some overtime and holidays.
