More information about our agency can be found online at: DUTIESThe Baltimore County Register of Wills is recruiting for a Records Department Supervisor. The selected candidate must exercise independent judgement for a variety of circumstances. This position assures proficiency and productivity by supervising the department's personnel, overseeing training of new employees, approving and/or denying leave requests, conducts department meetings, conducts performance evaluations, provides performance feedback, communicates the department's expectations, and handles disciplinary problems in coordination with HR.This position will support the processing of Last Will and Testaments, ensure the managing of the Wills vault storage, develop Certified and Exemplified copies of documents, assist with incoming and outgoing mail, and promptly satisfies customer inquiries received in person, over the phone and via email accordance with the current procedures, policies, guidelines, and status without rendering legal advice. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSEducation: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.Experience: Six (6) years of experience in administrative staff or professional work in an office setting.Must have at least two (2) years of experience with one or more of the following: the supervision of other employees, overseeing and coordinating the general operations of a unit, applying rules and regulations, or exercising responsibility or the development of policies or procedures.Note: Possession of an associate degree or 60 credit hours in a related field may be substituted for the required experience at the rate of 30 credits for one year of experience.REQUIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSProven strong leadership in cultivating and managing a highly diverse team with a successful track record of inclusion.Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules, legal authority, policies, and procedures is required.Excellent customer service experience, oral and written communication skills.Proficient computer literacy skills with MS Office Suite, logs/databases, and records management are required. Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and with attention to detail under time constraints.Ability to work with sensitive persons who are distressed.
