Location: Luana Iowa (IA)Job Title: Maintenance ManagerImmediate Supervisor Plant ManagerFLSA Status: ExemptSummary: The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the productive and efficient performance of the Plant's maintenance department.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Establish and maintain departmental budget within established guidelinesEvaluate and prepare expense authorizations for projects and present to Plant Manager for submittal.Work with upper management on capital projectsResponsible for environmental reporting such as Tier II and TRIResponsible for overseeing the Plant's boiler and ammonia systemWork with department supervisors running E-Maint. work order programDevelop plans to improve plant performance with the cooperation of the plant management team.Ensure sanitation, safety, GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices) and quality policies and procedures are followed at all timesCounsel and discipline employees as appropriate.Manage required training programs for maintenance personnelParticipate as a member of the plant safety committee.Oversee and manage the Plant's preventative maintenance programIdentify appropriate vendor networks.Communicate and respond to any product quality concernsCoordinate equipment availability, downtime projects, and new installations with the Plant ManagerCommunicate with plant management staff on daily operational issues.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications/Requirements:Bachelor's Degree preferred and five years of experience in maintenance management or equivalent combination of education and experiencePrior supervisor/manager experience requiredPrior work experience in food/dairy manufacturing setting is preferredMust possess solid analytical skills and mechanical aptitude.Must have valid drivers licenseAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress.Computer literacy required (E-Maint, Microsoft, and various invoice and inventory software programs)Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation.Must be able to communicate verbally, understand, and write in the English language.Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit, stand, or walk for prolonged periods of time. The employee is required to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms on a repetitive basis. The employee must be able to push, pull, and move up to 100 pounds. The employee must be able to physically lift up to 50 pounds. All jobs require visual acuity to review written documentations; ability to hear and understand speech. At times there can be loud noise which may cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
