Job SummaryInter-Con is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to provide a broad range of support for the Legal, and Compliance departments with a primary focus on litigation and labor relations matters.This includes administrative duties such as compiling and preparing documents for production pursuant to records requests and subpoenas, processing mail, management and distribution of document receipts from the Company's registered agent, and maintaining company licensure. This also includes exercising judgment and discretion in conducting substantive pre-litigation and administrative claim cross-departmental investigations and prepare responses to counsel and agencies as appropriate, employee relations investigations, wage claim audits, and legal research and assisting with drafting law and motion and discovery as necessary. This also includes auditing and ensuring compliance with state and federal employment practices, pay practices, record keeping as it relates to same, and other projects/programs. The position will report to Senior Vice President, Assistant General Counsel (Global Litigation & Labor Relations) and will routinely interact with Compliance, Human Resources, Risk Management, Operations and Finance.This position is hybrid, with a minimum of three (3) days per week in Pasadena's corporate headquarters, with the possibility of full time in office as business needs change.Primary Responsibilities The specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:• Perform general administrative tasks related to investigations, litigation and labor relation support, etc.;• Collect and organize documents for litigation and labor relations matters, response to subpoenas, record requests, grievances, etc.;• Conduct substantive cross-departmental investigations on legal claims and labor relations grievances, and assist with employee relations investigations;• Conduct contract and collective bargaining agreement research or reviews, including document collection, and drafting correspondence, law and motion, discovery, and grievance responses;• Track and timely maintain company licensure in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and industry practices;• Process and distribution of mail and receipt of documents from the Company's registered agent for service of process; • Review and ensure filings and submissions are accurate, timely and appropriately made;• Manage auditing program to ensure compliance with wage and hour, regulatory, and other laws;• Appear at conferences and/or hearings related to small claims and other administrative matters as they arise, and as appropriate for the position;• Assist with management of contract related projects if needed such as collaborating on responses to requests for proposals, etc;• Special projects as may be directed by the Legal and/or Compliance departments.Qualifications • Bachelor's degree or equivalent Paralegal Certification.• At least 5 years of relevant experience with an understanding of employment-based litigation, including wage and hour claims, labor relations grievance process, and corporate compliance.• Prior law firm or in-house experience with corporate attorneys.• Candidate must possess strong organizational, project/process management, written and verbal communication skills including investigative interviewing skills, as well as the ability to develop strong working relationships within the organization, including senior management.• The ideal candidate will be a team player who is self-motivated, proactive, inquisitive, communicative, collaborative, responsible and reliable.• Extensive database management experience is a critical component in this role.• Proficiency in Outlook, Lexis, and Microsoft Office, including Excel, and experience with SharePoint and Salesforce is preferred.• Certified notary, or willingness to become certified.Inter-Con Security Systems, Inc. is an affirmative action employer who provides equal employment opportunities to minorities, females, veterans, and disabled individuals, as well as other protected groups.
