Responsibilities include managing payments, deductions, payroll taxes, garnishments, workers' compensation, and unemployment insurance. You will prepare reports, establish payroll procedures, and liaise with the payroll service provider. Additionally, you will maintain the payroll system, coordinate retirement reporting, ensure compliance with employment laws, and administer departmental policies. Leading and directing staff, including hiring and performance management, is also part of the role.
