JOB SUMMARYHouston Country Club is seeking an Assistant Clubhouse Manager to join our team. The Assistant Clubhouse Manager (ACM) is ultimately responsible for all a la carte food & beverage service operations daily, including its activities, dining options, and relationships between club members, guests, and employees. Being the "public face" of these operations with a hands-on approach and an understanding that full "on-the-floor" member and staff engagement is critical to success in this position. The ACM consistently provides superb dining and other food and beverage experiences for the club's membership and their guests. This position works closely with, and reports to, the Clubhouse Manager. The relationship with the A La Carte Sous Chef and Food and Beverage Manager is especially important to this position, ensuring collaborative and harmonious relationships between front and back of house operations. They supervise the Food & Beverage Manager, Maitre D's, Service Staff and Reservations Personnel.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain a highly visible presence in all dining areas, fostering an energized and professional culture where employees thrive, and members enjoy a high-performing dining experience.Embody a heart for hospitality, ensuring exceptional service that reflects the high standards of Houston Country Club. Be a professional leader with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, prioritizing visibility, member engagement, and name recognition to enhance the dining experience.Be the primary leader of a la carte service staff associates to ensure all is done in accordance with approved Club policies and is compliant with governmental regulations. Have a passion and aptitude for teaching and training all food service personnel, working, as necessary, with the staff directly responsible for operations.Develop and embrace a positive, professional, and energized work environment focused on creating special and memorable experiences for members and guests. Ensure associates clearly understand performance expectations and assigned tasks are reasonable, well-conceived and appropriately conveyed. Provide resources necessary to allow employees to perform their jobs effectively and be fair and firm in adherence to club policy and procedure.Be a collaborative team player who is willing to be "hands-on" when necessary but understands when to step back and lead the team.Maintain a "run to the fire" mentality in operations oversight. Professional knowledge of food and service, cocktails and beverages, beer and wine. Establish and uphold expectations for dress, decorum and other service standards and consistently monitor for adherence. Take personal ownership of dining operations, ensuring all areas are well-maintained, aesthetically pleasing, and consistently "member ready."Work in coordination with other department leaders to ensure consistent standards result in high member satisfaction.Oversee all dining areas to ensure smooth and consistent experience commonality in all operations, high levels of member and guest satisfaction, quality food products and exemplary service.Participate in marketing/communication programs to increase dining room, banquet and general participation in F&B-related activities. Available to assist in banquets and social functions, including member and member sponsored events when needed.Work with the Clubhouse Manager to maintain a strong understanding of financial goals and operational budgets, reviewing metrics and implementing strategies to achieve success.Have a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness, while maintaining quality and integrity of the department's business plan.Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and F&B regulations while staying informed on industry trends and best practices.Be an active and dynamic recruiter of team members and someone who inherently enjoys developing and building his/her team and leading them to significant, positive membership satisfaction outcomes.Prepare and implement training programs for new hires, conduct daily coaching, and provide follow-up training to ensure a high standard of service.Be a focused and consistent evaluator of personnel, ensuring that standards of conduct and delivery are met; this includes oversight of high standards of appearance, hospitality, service, and cleanliness of the clubhouse facilities.Establish and consistently enhance operating standards for personnel in areas of responsibility and consistently evaluate knowledge, understanding and execution to these high standards.Qualifications & RequirmetnsMust have a positive, can-do attitude with strong initiative and follow throughMust have excellent written and oral communication skills and maintain a professional demeanorFlexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary for Club EventsAt least 3-5 years of experience supporting senior management in an executive assistant or administrative role.Strong organizational skills with an ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Microsoft Sharepoint Workspace.Comfortable with video conferencing toolsBasic troubleshooting and technology skills; able to address minor computer and software issues and liaise with IT for more complex problems.Education & ExperienceAt least 3-5 years of food and beverage experience and 2 years of priorRestaurant leadership experience is required. Upscale/luxury resort, hotel, orprivate country club experience is highly preferred. Banquet/Event management preferred. Beverage program management a plus. Knowledgeable in service, wine and culinary techniques.Four-year college degree or commensurate experienceDemonstrated background of service excellence Experience providing personalized, above and beyond service. Excellent customer service skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and great at multitasking. Solid leadership skills. Strong interpersonal skills. A demonstrated "Team Builder" and Team player.
