The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years experience supporting a Real Estate and/or Corporate practice in a law firm environment. This position may be located in our Chicago or New York office.Qualified individuals must have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational and communication skills, and be able to take direction. Overtime and travel may be required.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Attending and conducting closingsDrafting conveyance and other closing documentsPreparing critical dates listsPreparing closing checklistsPreparing closing statementsObtaining transfer tax stamps, zoning certificates, duplicate tax bills, water certifications, condominium letters, certificates of insurance and payoff lettersOrdering title searches and surveysWorking on title and survey reviewsResolving title and survey issuesForming, qualifying, amending, reinstating and maintaining LLCs, Partnerships and CorporationsOrdering Authority DocumentsPreparing and filing UCC Financing StatementsOrdering UCC lien searchesPreparing summaries of lien search resultsRecording documents in various counties and states.Organizing, preparing and coordinating the execution and delivery of closing documentsPreparing closing indices and organize closing booksFamiliarity with Land TrustsQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved institutionThe ability to independently and efficiently prioritize workflowSuperior organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite strongly preferredStrong proofreading skills and attention to detailJenner & Block LLP is an equal opportunity employer. The anticipated pay range for this role is $70,000-$125,000 in Chicago.
