Company Our client is a nationally recognized leader in multifamily housing development, innovation, and sustainability, creating world-class mixed-use developments in top metropolitan areas in the U.S., driven by Class-A multifamily rental housing. Position This is a new, full-time, onsite role in Philadelphia for a paralegal with 5+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in real estate, construction, or city government. The Paralegal reports to the Chief Legal Officer and works closely with the Chief Operating Officer in support of all departments of the organization. These include transactions, construction and property management. The Paralegal must have exemplary attention to detail, be self-motivated and have strong organizational skills. Responsibilities The Paralegal's responsibilities include but are not limited to the following (listed in priority order): Corporate Licenses, General Records, and Critical DocumentsMaintain 30+ annual licenses required for each of the company's (13) operating properties as well as 60+ annual licenses required for each of their (7) construction properties. Maintain closing binders for transactions (real estate; estate planning transactions; promissory notes/loans, etc.). Insurance ClaimsEnsure timely and organized processing of insurance claims related to property damage, business interruption, liability incidents, or other covered events across all properties. The company filed (4) major property claims within the last 13 months across the portfolio. Miscellaneous Tax MattersAssist in managing various tax-related matters, both federal and state. Vendor DisputesPromptly and clearly prepare and deliver notice documentation to third-party vendors, contractors, and tenants. LitigationAssist in managing litigation matters, coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders and external counsel. Contract AdministrationProvide support in drafting a variety of agreements and legal documents from template: service contracts, construction agreements, and others. Process, organize and maintain digital records of all contracts. Provide project management and deadline tracking for a variety of projects that involve the legal department. Real Estate and Corporate SupportWork with transactions and operations in providing general corporate and real estate support (optional). Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate. 5+ years of paralegal and transactional experience. Knowledge of principles, policies, verbiage, and practices relating to commercial real estate transactions and corporate governance. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe and PowerPoint. Take ownership and demonstrate clear leadership of assigned tasks and projects. Pro-active, solutions-oriented mindset with a strong focus on meeting deadlines. Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality with highly sensitive information. Experience with document management and corporate administration software preferred. Strong ability to multi-task. Exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and good time management skills are all required competencies. Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and project coordination experience. Must be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment and also as part of a team.
