Job Title: Family Law/Estate ParalegalLocation: Columbia, MarylandJob Summary:We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Family Law/Estate Paralegal with 3-4 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in family law and estate planning and administration, though we welcome applicants with experience in other areas of law. This role requires a proactive individual with strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and a passion for supporting clients.Key Responsibilities:Support two (2) attorneys in managing family law and estate planning and administration casesDraft and prepare legal documents, such as motions, pleadings, subpoenas, discovery responses, administration accounts, and some estate planning documentsOrganize and maintain case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and up-to-dateCoordinate communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff to facilitate case progressAssist attorneys with trial preparationConduct legal research and gather supporting documents to assist in case preparationManage case calendars and ensure timely filings, deadlines, and hearingsParticipate in case strategy discussions and provide support to attorneys as neededQualifications:3-4 years of paralegal experience, preferably in family law and/or estate planning and administrationParalegal certification or degree in paralegal studies is preferred but not requiredExcellent organizational and time-management skillsProficient in legal research, document management, and case management softwareStrong interpersonal skills with a client-centered approachAbility to work independently and in a remote settingExperience with Clio is a plusFamiliarity with family law-specific and estate forms, procedures, and state regulations preferredExperience drafting documents related to child custody, divorce proceedings, and support casesSalary: $40,000 - $55,000 (commensurate with experience)Benefits: Health insurance, paid time off, IRA plan with employer matching, remote work optionsWhy Join Us?We offer a supportive and flexible work environment, competitive salary, and benefits, including the option to work remotely.
