ResponsibilitiesThe Legal Assistants will work closely with shareholders and Paralegals in Family Law, General Law, and Criminal Law practice areas on the full spectrum of clientsSupport attorneys and paralegals on administrative items including receiving and opening mail, distributing it to the appropriate attorneyTranscription of dictation for some attorneys for correspondence, including letters to clients and engagement lettersComplete monthly expense reports and credit card statements, scanning, and printing documentsMaintain electronic and physical client filesMaintain attorney's calendars by setting appointments, coordinating schedules, and setting up meetings, pleadings, electronic filingAnswer phones and communicate with courts and prothonotariesEnter attorney's billable timeAssist the support team with coverage for receptionist or other assistantsPlease note that we champion the development of all rolesThis job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities, as they may change to meet the ongoing needs of clients and the firmQualificationsHigh school or equivalentThree (3) or more years of experience as a Legal Assistant or related experienceExperience using PACER to search dockets, party information, and download pleadingsExperience with state filings and familiarity with various county and prothonotary websitesExcellent communication skillsSolid writing and editing skills with a focus on developing thoughtful and persuasive messagingAbility to work in and adapt to a fast-paced work environmentStrong organizational, time management, and project management mindsetExperience with Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, Word, and other softwareDriven self-starter with a proactive approach to supporting counselCommitment to professionalism, cooperation, and teamworkExperience with iManage document management systemParalegal certificateActive Notary license (prefer)
