Legal Assistant - LitigationA highly regarded law firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support its Litigation team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, adaptability, a proactive mindset, and a dedication to exceptional client service. This position involves a wide range of administrative and legal support tasks, with opportunities for growth and learning under supervision.Primary Responsibilities:Assist attorneys with administrative tasks, including drafting engagement letters, opening case files, conducting conflict checks, preparing correspondence and legal documents, tracking billable hours, and managing continuing education compliance.Collaborate with other legal support staff to ensure the department's operational needs are met.Manage pre-billing processes, coordinate invoice revisions, and finalize billing statements for client distribution.Support legal assistants, paralegals, and other team members as needed.Handle document formatting, editing, printing, scanning, and filing.Respond to inquiries with prompt and accurate information.Prepare and submit expense reimbursements.File documents electronically with state and federal courts.Arrange logistics for meetings and conference calls, including scheduling, reserving rooms, ordering meals, setting up technology, and sending reminders.Act as a liaison between attorneys and internal departments.Take on special projects and assignments as directed.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to perform the responsibilities of the role.At least five years of recent experience in litigation support, with a strong understanding of trial preparation and coordination.Familiarity with scheduling depositions, mediations, and client meetings; drafting legal documents such as complaints and subpoenas; and preparing and filing discovery materials.Experience with financial systems (e.g., Aderant) is a plus.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and tools like Adobe Acrobat, Kofax, and DocuSign.Knowledge of document management systems (e.g., FileSite or iManage) is preferred.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and provide exceptional service to clients.Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and ability to adapt to changing needs.Notary public commission in Georgia or willingness to obtain certification within three months of hire.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal assistant to join a dynamic litigation team in a fast-paced environment.
