Orlando, FL law firm looking for a full-time paralegal with experience in commercial litigation. If you are a service-minded professional with intellectual curiosity and excellent work ethic, this may be the right fit for you.Key ResponsibilitiesElectronically file in state and federal courtsPrepare initial drafts of pleadings, motions, notices, correspondence, etc.Coordinate, set, and prepare for hearings, mediations, depositions, and/or meetingsParticipate in the discovery process including drafting responses and requests for attorney's review, compiling and reviewing document productionPreparing and issuing subpoenas to witnessesCommunicate verbally and in writing with clients, opposing counsel, paralegals, judicial assistants, witnesses, etc.Proofread all documents and check for appropriate formatting, spelling and grammatical errorsMonitor all deadlines and maintain attorney's calendarOrganize and maintain client files, follow up on pending mattersInput billing for daily activityQualificationsAt least 5 years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department environmentMinimum two-year degree in paralegal studies, Florida Registered Paralegal or NALA (National Association of Legal Assistants) certification; alternatively, at least 7 years of demonstrative commensurate experience working as a litigation paralegalExperience in commercial litigation is highly preferred, but any litigation experience will be considered.Proficiency with Word and 50 WPM typing requiredMust be highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and a team player who takes ownershipStrong verbal and written communication skills are requiredCompensation$50,000-$60,000 based on experience and expertiseBenefitsCompetitive salaryFull range of benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, life insuranceSimple IRAGenerous paid time offFree parkingAbout the firm:They were founded with a desire to help solve the most complex legal problems in a boutique legal environment.
