A Law firm is seeking a Real Estate Paralegal who will provide high-level paralegal support to attorneys in the firm's Real Estate department with experience working closely with low-income housing tax credits, affordable housing and other real estate transactions with financing from entities such as the Department of Housing and Urban Development and state tax credit agencies. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of ten (10) years' experience as a paralegal with heavy emphasis on real estate transactions in a law firm or in the real estate industry. The position reports to the Legal Support Manager and Real Estate Practice Group Co-Chairs. This is a nonexempt role. The firm values work/life balance and offers generous benefits. Status: Direct HireSalary: $130K DOELOCAL CANDIDATES ONLYDuties and Responsibilities: Primary duties will include, but are not limited, to the following:Review title commitments, title documents and surveys to identify objections and for complianceReview zoning and environmental reports for property complianceInteract directly with Title Agent and Surveyor to facilitate revisions of title and survey as part of due diligence in closing workMaintain due diligence of corporate and transactional documentsOrganize documentation for financing and government review submissionsDraft real estate acquisition closing documentsDraft entity formation documents, such as articles of incorporation, and articles of organization, and operating agreementsDraft consent resolutions and incumbency certificatesDevelop and maintain strong working relationships with clients in order to ensure the expeditious gathering of facts and informationOrganize and manage closing processFile and document organization and maintenance; create new folders and maintain existing folders utilizing an automated records management system; organize files for off-site storage, as well as active file maintenanceAssemble closing bindersDaily client contactOvertime will be required on occasionOther duties/tasks as assignedJob Requirements:At least 10 years of experience as a real estate paralegal in a mid-size or large law firmA Bachelor's Degree or ABA approved paralegal certificate highly desiredDemonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite and Adobe software programsMust have continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing and managing priorities and meeting deadlinesAbility to work independently, be a self-starter and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.Must possess excellent organizational skills and self-initiationMental/Physical/Environmental Requirements Indoor offices with controlled temperatures with limited exposure to noise, dust, chemicalsMobility within the office including movement from floor to floorMay sit for long periods of timeCrouching, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting occasionallyOperating a personal computer, telephone, voicemail, and other office equipment on a regular basisMust be able to express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken wordMust have the ability to convey detailed information in a clear and concise manner through spoken wordMust demonstrate good problem-solving skillsHow To Apply: Please respond with your resume for consideration.
