If you have a passion for creating delicious, high-quality baked goods in a professional kitchen, we'd love to hear from you.POSITION SUMMARYTo provide timely preparation of quality food for residents, customers, family members, guests and staff according to established policies and procedures, using safe food handling principles. Supports the team by demonstrating the highest standards of culinary excellence, accountability, respect, integrity, and compassion.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPrepares quality baked goods, desserts and pastries at designated times and cycle menus, while demonstrating kitchen sanitation practices according to HACCP procedures.Precuts and portions all baked goods to ensure consistency in portion controls.Prepares any needed items for catering requests in a timely and professional manner. Works closely with Dining Room Manager on event needs.Regularly checks menu cycle to ensure all food items are available for proper preparation of desserts and other needed items.Responsible for early morning production of bakery and pastry needs.Ensures a high-quality eye appeal is achieved on all bakery items. Provides additional garnishing when needed to properly present desserts.Secondary Functions:Demonstrates proper use and cleaning of equipment and supplies and performs daily and weekly cleaning assignments. Helps maintain organization and cleanliness of baking preparation areas, and promptly reports equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to management.Minimizes waste and over production, handles leftovers according to procedures and assures that all items are labeled, dated, and properly stored.This job description is not necessarily an all-inclusive list of job-related responsibilities, duties, skills, efforts, requirements or working conditions.
