MUST LIVE LOCAL TO RALEIGH/DURHAM AREAS TO BE CONSIDEREDThe Electronics Engineer Technician will be a member of the hardware engineering team and be responsible for prototyping and testing new designs, developing and maintaining test fixtures, and working with Tech Support to test RMAs. This position will report to the Director of Engineering.Duties and ResponsibilitiesBuilding and testing prototypesFault analysis on new and old productsFinding and testing replacements for obsolete partsMaintaining, calibrating and updating test fixtures and equipmentAssist with the development and testing of new productsTravel off site to work in other facilities to test productsOrganize data and notebooks and keep careful records of tests, parts, limits etc. Use Excel and Word to keep records.Create and check Bills of material.Updating schematic diagrams and other details of product designQualifications, Education and Experience Guideline:An associate (two-year technical) degree preferred but priority given to experience.2-5 years troubleshooting analog, digital, & microprocessor electronic hardware circuit boards, preferably in an engineering lab environmentGood eyesight and thru hole and surface mount soldering skills a mustFamiliarity with using modern bench test equipment including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies and signal generators.The ability to create solutions and solve problems from scratch is greatly valued.Good verbal and written communication, organizational and PC (MS Office) skillsMotivated self-starter capable of working independently as well as in group settings, fast learnerBe able to read and understand technical drawings, datasheets, and work instructions.MUST have experience with component-level testing and troubleshooting!MUST have a thorough understanding of electronic components MUST have circuit board experienceAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
