Diesel Mechanic Supervisor

Job descriptionThe Mechanical Supervisor will oversee the Diesel Mechanics in the Service Department. The Supervisor will play a key role in the management of people and process, driving productivity and ensuring a quality product is produced in a timely fashion. The Supervisor will address any departmental issues and help guide mechanics. They will work with other departments and assist in meeting company goals. He/She will foster a good working relationship between their department and all other departments of the company.Key Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:Oversee the operations and daily activities of Diesel MechanicsWork with Production Manager to ensure accuracy of daily scheduleTrain technicians to perform all standard jobs/duties timely and correctly the first timeLead department procedure to ensure quality and completeness of work performedDevelop, oversee and implement new hire training processSet expectations and drive productivity through teamwork, respect, and willingness to help and support othersResolve any departmental issues or concerns that may ariseFollow and enforce all company policies and procedures, as well as regulations required by any city, county, state or federal governing bodyCoordinate and drive housekeeping efforts and maintenance activities for shop equipmentMonitor and ensure trucks are in line with preset budgetWell versed in aftertreatment (certification is a plus)Coordinate and lead daily communication and monthly department meetingsAssign work and manage processes; ensure accurate and on-time completeness of assigned service ordersRequired Education, Skills & Abilities:High School Graduation or equivalent5+ years of diesel mechanical experience5+ years Management experienceMust have strong management characteristicsElectrical aptitude preferredMust have proven successful experience leading a team of 8+ employeesMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Benefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offVision insurance
