We are dedicated to providing the best care to meet the needs of people, for our community, for our patients and for you.Position Purpose:The Manager of Revenue Management plans, leads, guides, evaluates and manages the functions of Sinai Chicago Revenue Cycle. The position serves as the associate to the Vice President of Revenue Cycle. The position oversees the accounts receivable management activities, functions, and performance. This position is responsible for leading the efforts to achieve maximum efficiency and performance. Working collaboratively and in tandem with other leadership, this position will help facilitate best practice models and execute plans for standardization and performance improvement.Key Job Activities:Provides oversight for all operations and functions of the revenue management, accounts receivable management, charge reconciliation, claims management, denial management, collections, bad debt, and trend analysisLeverages technology to ensure that automated solutions and applications support functional objectives. Identifies gaps and proposes solutions where necessary.Analyzes key metrics, ensures performance quality and accuracy.Develops strategies to improve performance through work flows, software solutions, performance metrics, and payer communicationsSupports strategic planning initiatives and participates in effective execution of planning relevant to functional area(s).Provides regular analysis of trends in the accounts receivables and provides suggestions for resolution of negative trends.Provides expert guidance on maximizing collections through data analysis.Evaluates vendor performance and ensures that performance meets or exceeds expectations in key categories.Advises management team/clinical departments of changes in industry and governmental regulations that impact physician billing and reimbursement.Serves as a subject matter expert for Medicare and Medicaid billing, collections and bad debt.Maintains relationships with representatives of governmental and other third party payers to resolve billing problems and clarify policies.Serves on committees slated to improve processes, efficiencies, systems, technology, implement regulatory requirements, and problem solving.Stays abreast of industry changes impacting functional area and Revenue Cycle and identifies potential impact and required changes. Strives to promote best practices within the functional areas within the Revenue CycleSupports the mission established by the SHS relative to teamwork, professional responsibility, adaptability, integrity, customer service, initiative, and behavioral standards.Directs Vendor Management Program in Revenue Cycle; documents policies and workflows, and establishes reporting necessary for the success of the program, documents expectations, and current performance measures.Performs other duties as assigned.Education and Work Experience:Bachelor's degree in Business Management or work equivalent3+ years of experience with revenue cycle management3+ years of experience working with hospital billingKnowledge and Skills:Demonstrated ability to work effectively at all levels of the organizationDemonstrated ability to learn and apply technical and regulatory rulesDemonstrated ability to train and provide guidanceExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of hospital billing guidelinesKnowledge of regulatory issues impacting hospital billingKnowledge of insurance company's practice, regarding reimbursement and healthcareUnderstands data, how to find and use itStrong analytical and problem solving skillsMust be organizationally savvy; knows how to get things doneMust be detail-orientedExceptionally strong interpersonal and relational skills, including listening, written and verbalWorking knowledge of Microsoft ExcelCertifications/Licenses:NoneWorkplace Conditions:PHYSICAL DEMANDS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and talk or hearThe employee frequently is required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouchThe employee is occasionally required to standThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focusWORK ENVIRONMENT:General office environment and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderateBLOOD-BORNE PATHOGEN EXPOSURE CATEGORY:Category 1 - Job usually involves contact with patients or patient's specimens.
