The Construction Inspector will work closely with the Construction Manager to complete construction engineering projects. Applicants that are hired by MGC will be trained on industry standards.Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Telecom Construction Inspector to support the management and inspection of telecom construction projects. This role is responsible for ensuring construction crews are compliant with design specifications, environmental standards, and safety regulations. The Construction Inspector will work closely with the Resident Engineers to monitor progress, resolve issues, and maintain documentation for various fiber and telecom infrastructure projects.Key ResponsibilitiesPrint, review, and ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and RUS Standards for both buried and aerial telecom construction.Communicate and enforce environmental treatment plans, best management practices, and guidance from environmental assessments in affected areas.Inspect construction activities to ensure adherence to project specifications and report any variances to the Resident Engineer.Maintain accurate as-built data, including staking sheets and cable sequential values.Conduct inspections for fiber to the home (FTTH) and middle-mile projects, ensuring compliance with construction standards.Verify that site clean-up is completed to satisfaction at the end of each project phase.Provide feedback and respond to construction-related questions, addressing any variances or deviations as needed.Perform field observations for activities including splicing, environmental compliance, underground dirt work, aerial installations, wireless installations, and fiber testing.Participate in regular safety training sessions and ensure all construction activities follow proper safety protocols.QualificationsPrevious experience in telecom construction, fiber optic installation, or related fields.Strong knowledge of construction management, RUS Standards, and environmental regulations.Ability to interpret and enforce technical plans and specifications.Excellent communication skills for coordinating with construction teams and stakeholders.Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.OSHA certification or equivalent is a plus.Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites.Flexibility for up to 50% in-state/out-of-state travel as required.
