Location: Upper West Side, New YorkConcierge Job Summary:The Concierge will assist guests, patrons, tenants, management or employees with friendly customer service and knowledge of the building and building processes/systems. Ability to maintain high energy and positive focus interacting with both residents and visitors. Will be the main point of contact for all visitors and residents of the community.Duties/Responsibilities:Develops and maintains exceptional customer service relationships to fulfill the needs of tenants, guests, management and/or employees.Responsible for meeting, greeting and directing residents, guests and delivery vendors.Must be able to follow instructions, directions and abide by building policies.Answering calls and emails professionally in a timely manner and assisting callers/emails with directions, requests or instructions for the building.Keeping the communal areas tidy and observing monitors for suspicious activities, be a friendly/safe presence on-site.Monitor lobby traffic and alert residents to arriving guests and deliveries.Monitor surveillance cameras surrounding both internal and externalLog, make and keep track of all keys both concierge/building keys as well as key tracking systems for move-in/move outs.Clean coffee machine daily and restock suppliesConduct rounds of building for opening/closing doors as specified on each shift.Maintain logbooks for visitors and contractors.Receives, stores, deliveries and keeps daily log and inventory of package system and packages in Building LinkMaintain and update all areas of Building Link and Google sheets daily and as needed.Performs other related duties as assigned and outlined in concierge handbook.Required Skills/Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Being an active communicator who is customer focused and detail-oriented is a must to ensure the experience provided meets expectations.Proficient experience with Building Link, outlook/Gmail, word (preferred)Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.Must have a positive attitude with the ability to remain flexible and patient.Flexible schedule to stay late/come in early as needed if shift members are running late/call out sick.Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.Excellent administrative skills.Education and Experience:At least one year of exceptional hospitality skills working in the field of residential properties, retail, and hospitality or charity organizationPrevious Concierge or Front Desk experience is a plusMust read, write and speak the English language effectivelyPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds when needed.Expectations:In addition to completing the duties/responsibilities above, the expectation of the front desk concierge is to be alert and attentive to the building, its surroundings, and tenants/guests at all times.Personal devices such as phones, tablets, laptops, etc. are not permitted to be used (except for emergencies or contact with management staff) during shifts. Use of personal devices will result in job accountability discussions and potentially job action.Must look professional (black dress pants, plain dress shirts in white or black, black tie preferrable)The ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays is essential. Occasional double shifts if coverage is needed.
