Lead Front of House Butcher

If you enjoy interacting with customers, take pride in your craft, and have a deep respect for sustainable sourcing, we'd love to hear from you!Key ResponsibilitiesPerform custom cuts for customers, including breaking chickens, pork, and beef.Set up and maintain visually appealing, well-stocked display cases.Operate equipment such as bandsaws, slicers, and grinders to prepare meats.Maintain a strict food-safe environment, ensuring all surfaces, displays, and equipment are regularly sanitized.Rotate fresh meats properly to minimize waste and maintain quality.Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with customers, answering questions, and making product recommendations.Operate the register and process transactions efficiently, especially during peak hours.Monitor and maintain accurate inventory of fresh meat, dry goods, and supplies.Skills & Experience RequiredFood Protection Certification from NYC DOH.Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment, including standing for up to 10 hours.Strong communication and task management skills, with the ability to prioritize daily shop needs.Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as needed.Location: This role is based in Brooklyn, New York.Remuneration & ScheduleHourly Rate: $22 - $24 per hour (based on experience) plus pooled tips (approx $10 per hour)Time and a half overtime (anything above 40 hours)Schedule: Requires flexibility, including weekends (Saturday & Sunday), based on retail operations and seasonal demand.Our client is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer and welcomes all qualified applicants.
